#Halion 3 air full version#
HALion: The full version of HALion, including sampling and scripting functionality. For example, it does not include custom macro and sampling features. HALion Sonic: A version of HALion with reduced functionality.HALion Sonic SE: A free version of HALion Sonic (also included with all versions of Cubase ), with a smaller sample library and reduced sound synthesis functionality. There are 3 different editions of HALion available: Version 6 of HALion, announced at Winter NAMM Show on 19 January 2017 (alongside version 3 of HALion Sonic), introduced new features such as customization macros and user scripting (using a LUA-based scripting language ). Version 5 (and version 2 of HALion Sonic) followed in July 2013 with new instruments and effects.
Version 4 of the main edition of HALion was announced at Musikmesse 2011, introducing sound synthesis features to expand beyond purely sample-based audio. In June 2010, Steinberg announced the HALion Sonic edition of the software, positioned as the successor to their previous Hypersonic 2 software instrument, including both sampling and sound synthesis functionality. In July 2009, Michael Fakesch (former member of the band Funkstörung) produced a score for the Philips commercial Carousel (which won the Film Grand Prix award at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival ) using the HALion Symphonic Orchestra and Cubase.

On 1 April 2009, Steinberg released the version 3.5 update to HALion, which introduced 64-bit support. Īt Musikmesse 2006, Steinberg announced a specific version of the software, known as the HALion Symphonic Orchestra, which included the samples to represent a full orchestra. By the year 2004, it had reached version 3. OR, I will pay for consulting time if someone on the forum can successfully get this working. The first version of HALion was released by Steinberg in 2001. So, if anyone has an XR18 successfully recording, with playback, into Studio One 3, please post here. We have seen ASIO4all help with this, but we can't troubleshoot ASIO4all. We have seen mixed results with their products. Behringer does not have an ASIO audio driver. This is most definitely a Behringer with Studio One issue. With the ASIO4ALL driver, I can now play the tracks, but it won't recognize the XR18 input.Īfter not being able to get that working, this is what PreSonus support said: SO3 does recognize the ASIO4ALL driver, and I can select the XR18 as the input, and Windows Audio components as the output.
#Halion 3 air install#
PreSonus suggested I install the ASIO4ALL driver, which I did. But then, I cannot record with the XR18 again until I change the audio input back to the XR18. Only then can I play the recorded tracks.
However, SO3 will not playback unless I change the audio input from the XR18 to Windows Audio. SO3 recognizes the XR18 as an audio input (XR18 USB out -> USB in on Windows 10 PC), we have mapped the XR18 channels to SO3 tracks, and we can record any of the channels.
#Halion 3 air driver#
You first need to install the XR18 Windows driver in order for SO3 to recognize it. I have been trying to set up my Behringer XR18 with Studio One 3 Windows (SO3) for two months-with only partial success.
